National Geographic Never Gets Old

When I was about 11 I destroyed my parents collection of National Geographic magazines and tore out every picture. Then I taped all the pages to my walls and up onto the ceiling, wallpapering the room with one giant collage. I draped an American flag above my bed and slept beneath the collection of dreamy places every night. This photo by Martyn Thompson reminded me of the glorious gold spines that once sat on my parents shelves.
