New Caribbean Design-A Good Thing
New Caribbean Designs represents an unprecedented collaboration, weaving together elements of craft production, community development and modern design. Working closely with artisan producers, community and craft production factories the group created twenty new furniture, textile, home accessory and lighting products that are debuting at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair 2010 in New York City. Here are a few products born from this admirable collaboration.

Q&A with Christina Fluegge
1. Name: Christina Fluegge
2. Occupation: Interior designer/shop owner/blogger at greige.
3. Last purchase you made that is hanging on your wall? I purchased a beautiful piece for myself from Janet Hill “Leona and the yellow bird”.
4. What's the item you've had the longest hanging on your wall? A limited edition piece “Divers” by Eric Zener.
5. Favorite place to buy art? Right now, I love to buy vintage etchings and other paper ephemera from the flea market.
6. Do you collect anything? I have a weakness for dishes – French dishes in particular!
7. Any advice for those exhibiting art in their homes? Art is totally subjective and it should be something you love, something that makes you smile each time you see it. Art can be anything really just be creative and please put something up- your walls don’t want to be plain and boring!

Charlie's Angels Successful Again
I couldn't resist sharing this lunchbox remake of Charlie's Angels taking down Bin Laden. Walter Robinson is a San Francisco sculptor whose funny, unsettling conceptual objects and installations focus on language and culture. Working in a range of materials— wood, epoxy, metal, and found objects— he hand-fabricates and assembles commentaries about politics, advertising, identity and desire. Using text and the strategies of appropriation, conflation, and dislocation, he reveals the subconscious human imperatives hidden beneath political, religious, and capitalist packaging. Robinson is a graduate of Lone Mountain College in San Francisco; his work is represented by Catharine Clark Gallery in San Francisco and Charlie James Gallery in Los Angeles.
